Made to be accessible
Every page can be read aloud, and you can make the text bigger, switch to an easy-read font, add more spacing or change to light colours using the Aa Reading button. Read more in our accessibility statement.
How it is made
Each entry is a short retelling based on the ancient Greek and Roman sources named at the bottom of the page, such as Homer, Hesiod, Apollodorus, Virgil and Ovid. Where the ancient writers disagree, we say so. The full texts in the Library are older English translations that are now in the public domain. The portraits are original illustrations made for Study Mythology.
Who is behind it
Study Mythology is an ideasman.com project, created by a former teacher who wanted the myths to be easy for everyone to explore. It is published and operated by Welcome Group Ltd, 16 Trinity Square, Llandudno LL30 2RB.
